6 Week Introductory Course

This Introductory Course is suitable for anyone regardless of age, ability or physical condition. Saraw Hitta asanas ("exercises good for everybody") are simple and effective exercises offering increased flexibility of joints and spine, and improved blood circulation through the entire body. Such benefits promote greater mental and physical health while preparing the body for more advanced yoga techniques.

Each 1.5 hour class will incorporate a variety of PASSIVE and DYNAMIC ASANAS, BREATH TECHNIQUES, as well as RELAXATION and MEDITATION practices. This Course will offer guidance in integrating these techniques into your daily life.
The six weeks will cover:

Meditation and Swadhyaya (scripture study)

This class is designed to introduce you to the benefits of meditation and provide a foundation practice. The guided meditations are aimed at developing awareness of body and mind, learning how to attain complete physical relaxation, working with the breath as a gateway to meditation and opening to the process and experiences meditation can bring. Guidance will also be provided on how to get started with your own home practice. Second part of the class includes talk on basic philosophical principles of Yoga. You will study the scriptures of Yoga and participate in group discussions. The aim is to deepen your own knowledge of Yoga and understand the Yogic lifestyle.

Level 1

A level suitable for beginners and obligatory for students new to Yoga in Daily Life. Improve your health and well-being in our Level 1 class, where you will learn yoga postures, breath techniques, deep relaxation and meditation to relax the body and calm the mind. Yoga poses are systematically and safely introduced. Regular practice of yoga brings balance to the body, mind and soul. Newcomers to Yoga in Daily Life are highly encouraged to attend at least two six-week sessions at Level 1 before moving on to a higher level. Students are welcome to take Level 1 for as long as they like.

For those who have taken at least two sessions of Level 1. Deepen your awareness of the postures, deep relaxation, pranayam and meditation. An introduction to the classical Asanas of Yoga.

Continue to deepen your practice with greater awareness, concentration, and precision.
Prerequisite: At least two sessions of Level 2.

Payment Terms and Conditions

PAYMENT: Yoga in Daily Life cannot guarantee or reserve a place in the course until full payment is received.

CANCELLATION: If a cancellation is made up to 72 hours before the start of the course a transfer or refund of the total amount minus an administration fee of $30 will be given. For any cancellations after this time the total amount is non-refundable. In extenuating circumstances an application (in writing) for transfer to another course will be considered at the discretion of the centre manager. A $30 administration fee applies to all refunds and/or transfers.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE: Missed classes, due to work, illness or vacation, may be made up at the same or lower level any time during the six-week session.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS: The Yoga center is closed on statutory holidays. Students may make up their classes any time during the six-week session.

PREFERRED CLASS (for Level 1-8 classes): We encourage students who attend our regular Level 1-8 classes to chose a specific class. This helps students to be consistent in their yoga practice, to have their spot in a class reserved, and to enable the instructor to follow the progress of the student. However, this is optional and students are free to attend any class of their or lower level that week (as per their paid option).
